Okeeheelee Local Race

We packed up, loaded up and hit the road Friday afternoon to head down to Okeeheelee for the Gold Cup Qualifier on Sunday. We decided to make a little weekend trip with the boys out of it. Brayden stayed with his Dad for a few days and went with my parents on Sunday to the Tampa Bay Rays game.

The drive down was wet but we got settled into the hotel quickly. We were all exhausted so we all headed to bed once we got in. And our morning started out early!

The hotel was close to an airport so it was awesome to be able to look out the window and see airplanes and jets flying in and out. The boys spent the majority of the morning and afternoon swimming in the pool with our BMX friends.

We headed to the track later afternoon and were hoping that the weather was going to hold up and the rain would go away. Bransen and Ben got some good practice in and as soon as it was race time the sky opened.  They race rain or shine with no lightning so we waited until the rain stopped. It never really stopped but was more of a drizzle so they raced. The boys both had great races even with the wet clothes and wet track. We ended up wrapping up later than we expected, went back to the hotel room, ate dinner and called it a night.

Lots of rest was needed for the Gold Cup qualifier in the morning!
